Massie’s Neighborhood
K - 2nd grade     neighborhood
This program’s focus is the neighborhood Massie has inhabited since the development of Calhoun Square in 1856.  Students will go on a walking tour of Massie’s neighborhood and learn how neighborhoods change over time, how they require cooperation and community rules, and how they bring together people of diverse backgrounds in both residential and commercial interaction.  Emphasis is placed on the unique neighborhoods in downtown Savannah, and children are invited to compare the neighborhoods in which they live to that of the Massie School.
